These M8 bolts are used for only three purposes in all the aircooled Volkswagens; for mounting the battery holder on the Karmann Ghia (1 piece), and the last production year of the Split Bus (1 piece), for mounting the cooling fan on the hub of the 1600cc CT/CZ and all Type 4 engines (3 pieces), and finally for mounting the rollers on the carrier seat of Volkswagen Bus ambulances (Bay Window Bus 4 pieces and VW Vanagon 3 pieces).
